Microsoft: Project Scarlett & Project xCloud
Project Scarlett is a next-gen console from Xbox. E3 2019 revealed some new details about the upcoming launch: built around powerful new hardware from AMD, including their new Navi graphics architecture and a Zen 2 CPU, the Scarlett is designed to minimize (or completely eliminate) load times and get you into games as quickly as possible.
It will be four times more powerful than the current most powerful console on the planet, the Xbox One X, and it will have four times better performance than the current generation in terms of load times. It is the biggest generational leap in Microsoft’s console history.
Halo Infinite will be the launch title for Project Scarlett and the release is planned for Holiday 2020.
Another gamechanger presented by Microsoft is Project xCloud. The company shared its vision for the evolution of gaming: similar to music and movies, games should be available on-demand and accessible from any screen. Project xCloud is Microsoft’s game-streaming technology that will allow XBOX fend off the competitive threat from Google’s Stadia cloud gaming service.
